My Story

I've been cooking since I was tall enough to reach the counter.

I'm Elisabeth Dunkins. For more than 70 years I've grown, cooked and baked real food. Today I share it with you: honest recipes and simple guides, straight from my kitchen to yours.

My Story

A life lived in the kitchen.

  1. I Where I come from

    Plain country, Amish neighbors

I grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Our neighbors were Amish, and my mother never bought anything she could make herself. Bread, jam, broth, pie: it all came out of our kitchen. That's where I learned that good food doesn't need to be fancy. It needs to be real.

  2. II When everything changed

Going back to what I knew

In my late 50s, my digestion fell apart. Conventional medicine didn't have much to offer me, so I went back to the way I was raised. I cut out refined sugar and processed flour, and started sweetening things with bananas and dates.

Within six months, I felt better than I had in years. My doctor was surprised. I wasn't.

  3. III Why I share

    From my kitchen to yours

"These recipes are what I actually make. Every week, in my kitchen, for myself and whoever happens to stop by."

I'm not a nutritionist. I'm just a woman who found her way back to health through real food. And I believe that kind of knowledge shouldn't stay in one kitchen. So I started writing it all down, for you.

  4. IV Today

A table that keeps getting bigger

What started as a few handwritten recipes is now a collection of cookbooks and simple health guides, and a community of more than 900,000 friends on Instagram. Every week I share a little more of what I've learned. There's always room at my table.

What I believe

Good health was never meant to be complicated.

Being healthy should never be difficult. Everything I write comes back to four simple ideas.

01

Nature knows best

The earth has already given us everything we need. My job is simply to help you find it, one honest recipe at a time.

02

Wisdom is for sharing

I believe in sharing what we know, our experiences and our natural solutions. When we learn from each other, we all thrive.

03

Real food first

From my cookbooks to my health guides, I lean on time-honoured remedies, wholesome ingredients and habits that fit into real life.

04

Keep it simple

You don't need complicated routines or expensive solutions. With the right knowledge and a few good tools, feeling well is within everyone's reach.

Real ingredients. Real kitchen. Real health.

No refined sugar, no guilt, no complicated ingredients. Just food made the way it's supposed to be.
